My Professional Life
I've spent the last thirteen-plus years working for the Winnefox Library System. The system, headquartered in Oshkosh, serves 30 member libraries in five Wisconsin counties (Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Waushara & Winnebago). I began my career there in December 1998 as their Automation Specialist. In July of 2001, I moved into a new position, Electronic Services Support Specialist. In this position, I maintain access to electronic reference services for the system (such as newspaper and magazine archives and health and business databases, and much more), I've worked on digitization projects to preserve aging local history resources, and I've programmed searchable databases covering vital records as well as local history. Here is a list of the projects I've contributed to for our member libraries:
Fond du Lac Public Library
- Fond du Lac, Wisconsin Vital Statistics Index
Green Lake County Libraries (Berlin, Green Lake, Kingston, Markesan and Princeton) & Omro Public Library
- Local Vital Records Index
Menasha Public Library
- Menasha Newspaper Index
Oshkosh Public Library
- 1957 Address Changes
- Barns of Winnebago County - Map
- City Directories
- Firsts and Facts
- Local History Books
- Newspaper Index

- Stories and Snapshots
- Vital Records Index
Ripon Public Library
- Pedrick Genealogy Notebooks
- Ripon Obituary Index
Waushara County libraries (Coloma, Hancock, Pine River, Plainfield, Poy Sippi, Redgranite, Wautoma and Wild Rose)
- Waushara County Obituary Database
Winneconne Public Library
- Vital Records Index
Prior to working for the library system, I worked at Wells Manufacturing Corp., in Fond du Lac as their PC Specialist. I started there when I graduated college from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh in May of 1996. Prior to graduation, during my last few years of college, I gained experience with computers at Mid-States Aluminum Corp., in Fond du Lac as an intern after moving into the office from my third-shift fabrication job there in October of 1993.
